Works for the Decan-Plav road this week have crashed central authorities in Pristina and local ones in Decani.
While Kosovo Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti demanded that work be suspended in the protected area near the Decani monastery, the mayor of this municipality, the Ramosaj Union insisted that the work continue. And after a meeting that the two sides held agreed that the work will be interrupted for a while. Despite this break, Ramos believes that the work of this road will soon begin.
The head of the Decani municipality, the Ramosaj Union for Kosovo, has said it has the mood to find an acceptable solution for all.
Ramosaj says that through the implementation of this project, life will return to the city he leads.
He said on August 27th they will hold a meeting with all the actors involved and that the same will be realised in Decani, where all clarifications will be given about this project that prompted everyone's response.
“All available is to find a common (solution) way, acceptable to all. We are a hostage to many agreements, of many laws, of many injuries which one by one should be considered in detail. In this city we'll live together and in the monastery I've always asked you to respect the needs of the citizens of the Decani municipality, and so am I, as chairman, am I willing to respect and protect the needs and interests of the monastery.... I'm convinced that they're going to start (roadworks) and I have a conviction as far as I know and I have contacts with people of the international factor that we're on a good track and Decani is getting the right attention, we just have to have the proper approach to solving these problems. We're not talking about political conflicts, we're not talking about law enforcement or non-compliance, nor about the historical-religious conflict, and we're not doing patriotic and political folklore, but we want this city to give life to”, he stressed.
That the road will also be carried out by former Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, who estimates that political and artificial topics should not be created around this road that will only bring good.
With these changes of governments delayed the dynamics of work, we are now ahead of an important meeting and it is very important to clarify that the purpose of the President of Decani and all of us is to bring people together. So the way to bring Kosovo's people closer to Montenegro, in this case Decani with Plav, but also cultures, faith and religion. So the path will only bring good, even for the church, the glass, and the clothing. I believe that that path will be carried out, I don't see the need to create a political topic from this street and artificial”, Haradinaj told Kosova Preis.
The citizens of this part also expressed revolting over the ban on the work in this section. They say building this road is vital for them, so they also warn protests if the issue is not corrected.
Shala lives who is resident of this area, says the Decan-Plav street is important to them, so he says the works should resume as soon as possible.
He also warns protests if they will not continue the work on the asphalt of this road.
“Actions are a disaster that is more historically known to be the dicks of these religious clergymen, but this will soon be worked and we'll be back... We definitely need (the road) is vital for us, we are residents of this country and we think about going back, we have to continue the work... we will organise protests and whatever it takes,”, he said.
For MattKatazin, cutting the works on this side is inappropriate. He says that fixing this road facilitates circulation.
It's not okay because it's a road that connects the entire Decani region to the municipality of all... It's a hundred percent easier by”, he said.
There were numerous reactions to halt road work within Decani's protected zone. It all began after the reaction of the Patriarch of the Decani monastery, Sava Yannaq, and was followed by reactions from Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq.
We remember that shortly after he received his mandate as Kosovo Prime Minister, Avdullah Hoti made the inauguration of a segment of Decan-Plava Street.
