VV chairman Albin Kurti has published the data from studies dealing with reading and teaching in Kosovo.
He writes:
Parents don't read enough. Public libraries in municipalities and private ones in households are poor. The culture and expression of reading are lacking. Students spend an average of about seven hours a day in front of different screens, of which only two classes (read and research). Most students cannot remember the last three books they have read. 2/3 of them practice copying tasks and references from the internet. The older students, the less they read and the more copy.
These are some of the findings from studies dealing with reading and learning in Kosovo. We are unaware of how many problems today are a direct consequence of poor education. From bad governance up to misery down.
We must restore knowledge as value and knowledge as authority. If we want to have state and progress.
