US Special Presidential Representative Richard Green has spoken of recent European Union initiatives to restore Kosovo and Serbia to the dialogue table.
Grenelli says Europe's initiative has full US support and that it is happy to see Europeans hosting the Paris Videos on July 10th and the summit between Kosovo and Serbia on 12 July in Brussels.
Trump's emissary expects the visa liberalisation process for Kosovars to be completed at these two meetings.
“We are pleased to see Europeans preparing meetings on July 10th and 12th for further discussions between Kosovo and Serbia. We offer our full support and are grateful for their leadership. We hope that the important issue of liberalisation for Kosovo will be completed at this” meeting, Richard Green has said.
The US Emissar says the US has worked hard to point out that normalising economic reports between Kosovo and Serbia is the first important step leading to resolving the long-standing dispute between Kosovo and Serbia.
He has also said he hopes Europeans will also implement three signed agreements between Kosovo and Serbia under the mediation of the United States of America, since he says they are key to job creation.
The United States has been working hard to stress the economic normalisation of the reports between the parties, because we believe it is the first and most important step to this long-term dispute. And we hope that Europeans will make the implementation of previously reached air transport, railway and road agreements a top priority. We believe that these agreements are key to job creation and giving hope to the region's new population of”, added further to Richard Green.
Meanwhile in the end, the US Special Presidential Representative says they never believed in a quick Kosovo- Serbia within the election year in the United States.
Grenelli says they have never thought of a quick solution between Kosovo and Serbia by the fact that they have focused on the issue of normalising economic reports between the two countries.
Grenelli points out that if the international community wants to have success then it should continue with new and creative ideas, as the people of Kosovo and Serbia according to him deserve the full and constant attention of Europeans.
“We have never believed in a quick agreement between Kosovo and Serbia in an election year. And we never thought that our only focus on economic normalisation would lead to a quick solution. The difficult and long-term political issues will be easier to face once progress is made on economic issues initially. If we really want to achieve progress (progress), then the international community must certainly continue to try to achieve new and creative ideas. And the people of Kosovo and Serbia deserve the full and constant attention of Europeans”, Richard Green.
