News of Express has confirmed Minister Agim Veliu's Cabinet chief, Bajram Gecaj, who has suggested that Hodaj has been appointed to this position on 15 July.
“With 15/07/20, Minister Veliu has named Mr. Objection Hodaj, Director of the Department for Planning, Co-operation, Legal Affairs and Information at the Kosovo Police Inspectorate (IPK), IPK Executive Chief task officer. Similarly, with an illegal decision, dated 23/04/20, the task manager of the Ministry of Internal Affairs's office, Mr. Ezhevit Zuka, leader of the Department for Planning and Legal Issues, in the position of task fraud of IPK chief executive head”, Gecaj said.
He has deemed Sveclaj's decision illegal, which in April had named Zukaye in this position.
The decision was illegal because, based on paragraph 4 of Article 15, of Law No. 03 L-231 for the Kosovo Police Inspectorate is determined that: “in the case of the end of the mandate, the dismissal or suspension of the IPK Executive Chief, the minister immediately appoints one of the IPK department directors, as a task officer of the chief executive chief until the IPK chief is elected.
Mr. Zuka wasn't one of the directors, but he was the head of the division. Therefore, with this decision, Minister Veliu has restored respect for and implementation of the rule and law”, Gekaj's responses to the Gazette Express reported.
Otherwise, Zuka was appointed head of Kosovo Police Inspectorate following the dismissal of Miradije Kelmendi from this position.
