And it is a strong symbolic gesture, a signal of special attention that the French government shows to Italy.
The French top diplomat will meet with his homogug Luigi Di Maio at the headquarters of the Italian Foreign Ministry.
The focus of the agenda will be the most important foreign policy topics such as Libya and Europe's role in the Libyan crisis, Syria, Iraq, Iran.
The two leaders of diplomacy are expected to discuss the tourism issue as well.
France, unlike some other European countries, has not closed borders with Italy, nor during weeks of isolation.
