Kosovo's League of Historians “Ali Hadri”, the branch in Decan, Shkodran Imeraj, has reacted to statements by the EU's native to the dialogue Miroslav Lajcak, saying Kosovo should not accept the continuation of this process with Serbia if this does not seek forgiveness for crimes against Albanians.
In a letter sent to the European Union Office in Pristina, the head of the Parliament, prime minister and president of the Republic of Kosovo, Imeraj says Lajcak's statement has intervened in Kosovo's internal affairs, declaring itself regarding the deployment of new measures towards Serbia.
“Lajcak, before criticising Kosovo's institutions in terms of decisions against the Serbian state, is good to declare whether or not he accepts the independence of the Republic of Kosovo. It is known that he has been a major opponent of Kosovo's independence and comes from a country that does not recognise our state. He, if he does not accept the new reality in Kosovo, cannot represent the official position of the European Union in talks between Kosovo and Serbia”, says the communique.
The head of Decani historians calls on Kosovo leaders to refuse to continue dialogue with Serbian representatives unconditionally, demanding that Serbia apologise for the genocide of Albanians during the 1912-1999 period, provide information to missing Albanians during 1945-1999, remove all obstacles from the Serbian state that are related to the constitutional name of Kosovo, and take on the atonement for the war damages it has caused in 1998-1999, and return of the cultural artefacts that the Serbian side has stolen in 1999.
The time has come for our country to prove that it is a state, and that in relation to the neighbouring Serbian state, it will be cautious and determined, responding to any provocation and obstacle that Serbia imposes against Kosovo. The obstacles Serbia imposes, the Kosovo state must face with obstacles”, the communique concludes.
