Gerjali: Kosovo has been manipulated as a <x0m> bomb” social, region countries most efficient in restoring the economy

For this, Economy expert Safet Gerjaliu is saying that not political stability in Kosovo has brought the country ahead of numerous challenges, and Kosovo is in a difficult situation, damaging businesses, damaging the economy, and particularly the citizen of Kosovo.

The former head of OEK Gerjaliu says of Kosovo Press he is concerned with the engagement and activity that are making countries in the region and Europe, while Kosovo has still not met predictions with the first emergency package.

And what makes me worry the most is the commitments and activities that are making countries in the region, Europe and beyond, until we have yet to meet predictions with the first emergency package. These countries, however, have passed the third step. They're doing programs and projects to save the fourth step. And what I'm curious about is the fact that these countries are advancing in that form that they're not only dealing with eliminating the consequences or Sancing consequences from the coronary, but saving the country from pandemic and economic development. I believe it is time for Kosovo to think differently, that over state interests cannot be the interests of political parties”, Gerxhaliu said.

He has further said it is a disaster that has no harmonisation between the government and the Kosovo Assembly to emerge from the economic crisis caused by the pandemic.

Gerjali talking about the economic sectors hit by Coronavirus, says that, along with the construction and gastronomy, insurance companies were also hit.

There are no economic ports that have not been hit by coronary, in this direction along with construction, gastronomy, tourist agencies, insurance companies and the closure of registration centres. Today, there are close to 200,000 registered cars in Kosovo, while circulation is free of any obstacle. Who will cover the damage if there are no insurance and who will take responsibility if there are no registered cars? In this direction is the time for these sectors to be supported as quickly as possible”, Gerjaliu declares.

He has also talked about social challenges created by the pandemic, which, according to him, Kosovo may have a social bomb, so the country's government and institutions should be more alert along with this potential explosion.

We are in Kosovo on social challenges, and Kosovo is almost set up as a social bomb for outbursts of discontent. We bear in mind the fact that we have different missions or secret services that very few are entitled to positive processes in Kosovo and are much more prepared to exploit discontent, so the government really needs to be careful. Budget review is inexorable, shortcuts to different projects as well. Therefore, sanctions and developments are at the top of”, he says.

Gerxhaliu has also commented last night's decision by the Government of Kosovo to support public enterprises that have financial difficulties with 20m euros. According to him, in addition to the government's assistance to the public sector, more needs to be worked by the judiciary to identify those responsible for bringing these companies into this situation and to be a burden to the state.
