American Ambassador to Belgrade says he was present at the Thaci-Wucciq-Grenelli meeting, showing what was discussed

US Ambassador to Belgrade Anthony Godry has talked today about the issue of dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia. He has said that the United States of America is convinced that a solution should be found, but the agreement must be between the two sides and not imposed from outside.

Godrey further has said he is convinced that a solution between Kosovo and Serbia can be found, but that such a solution cannot be imposed from abroad and that for him they must decide for Pristina and Belgrade themselves.

The American diplomat has said that the appointment of Green and Palmer shows how much Washington is very interested in the region.

“Richard Grenelli is an energetic man who believes the parties will be more motivated if political differences are removed and if people understand the economic benefits that will result from economic incentives we will present. Also, Matthew Palmer understands in detail the politics, history and culture of this region, not only in Serbia but throughout the region”, Godfrey has said further.

Alfredy also in this TV interview for Prva has been asked whether the US are losing influence in the dialogue as a result of Germany's involvement, however, he has said he does not see dialogue in the perspective of a battle of global interests.

I'll be asked if this is a battle between global interests. I don't see the situation as such, and I think we are different leaders here that we're interested in reaching the same goal, and this is a stable region that will be able to stage and be a safe region”, Godfrey stressed.

The US ambassador has said that for resolving the problem with Kosovo, Serbia must rely on its own forces and dialogue with Pristina and that the United States of America and the EU will help achieve that goal.

“Fokus should be in the future and not in the past. Let's look at the future and what's best for Serbia” has addedfrey further.

He has now said it is not important who will solve the problem but how it will be resolved.

“Who will solve the issue (dialog Kosovo- Serbia) is not a good question for us, but we should ask how we will solve the problem. A lasting solution can only be what parties will achieve. We want to support it, while if we try to impose a solution from the outside, it will not be long-term”, the American ambassador to Belgrade, Anthonyfrey, has suggested.

Alfredy has also mentioned the fact that there has been dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade for nearly 2 years since the establishment of the 100 %s tax, until he has provided some details for Thaci-Wucciq-Greek meeting during the Security Conference in Munich, where he says he himself was present.

Alfredy has said that concrete things have been discussed at that meeting for things that can be done in terms of the Kosovo-Serbia agreement.
