Raka: Better shut down than tomorrow your doctor decides who gets into the respirator and who dies in the hallway

Dr. Lull Raca on a Facebook post has said a few words about citizens complaining about measures that have entered into force since yesterday.

Dear citizens of Kosovo,

The world is facing an unprecedented pandemic from an invisible virus that has closed the globe. We still don't have a cure or a vaccine for prevention. Today, therefore, 2.3 billion people in the world are housebound. They're closed, because this virus knows no limits, no superpowers, no heads, no captains, no laws, no Constitutions.

We're closed today in Kosovo, because we don't want your doctor to decide tomorrow who's going to get into the respirator and who dies in the hallway.

It is difficult to remain confined to four walls of the house with children who want bread on the table, older ones, chronically ill, and disabled ones seeking care.

Maybe you lost your wealth, your job, the next day. You've already calculated it and you've got a number. But your life and your loved ones are not measured by number. No prize. Riches can be restored, but the lives of your beloved ones no.

Remember that death from this modern plague has already knocked on nine houses in Kosovo, taking the lives of parents, grandparents and mothers. Nobody knows what the house of 10, 20, 30 will be.

Even in this difficult time, however, what overcomes any challenge is the sanctity of family love, which has been empowered at this time of pandemic. She's 100 times more powerful than any virus.

We've been together and we're together even when you've applauded us from the balcony, even when you've insulted us from the living room.

I, along with all my colleagues at all health care levels, will never leave you alone! Under no circumstances or price. Your health and your families will be our ideal until the last hour of this long and difficult journey.
