”protests contain social distance guidance of states”Facebook spokesman Andy Stone said.
Protests have erupted in the United States during the last few days after closing orders have lasted, and many Americans have remained unemployed.
The move comes after Facebook faced criticism for allowing people to co-ordinate anti-karanti protests on its platform. Public health officials, state officials and health care workers say these protests are endangering people's lives: Collecting people in large crowds, they increase the chances of spreading the highly contagious disease, writes Vox.com.
Others, including President Trump, have defended the protests, saying at a press conference Monday that protesters “want our country” and “wanted to go back to work”. Facebook's decision to remove these posts comes at a time when the company is trying to grow up as a leader in the use of major data to combat the spread of the virus, while also fighting the efforts of some of its users to spread the Comvid-19 disinformation.
