Memli Krasniqi: This is the act of self-handling of Prime Minister and Government

The deputy head of the Kosovo Assembly from the PDK ranks, Memli Krasniqi, said that the session for voting the no-confidence motion for the collapse of the government has come after Prime Minister Albin Kurti's self-deviation and Government faced the challenges Kosovo has. So there couldn't be another end to a Government and a Prime Minister, who for a while [...]

So there couldn't be another end to a Government and a Prime Minister, who in such a short time risked the most vital alliance for Kosovo, who failed to provide a development programme for citizens' expectations and created so much contradiction within themselves for a short period of”.

The chief of the PDK Parliamentary Group confirmed that the PDK will vote on the collapse of the government, Klan Kosova reports.

The Democratic Party of Kosovo will vote for the no-confidence motion, not only because it is at the top of the opposition and the natural description of the work of any democratic country's opposition is to shorten the government's life as much as possible, but also because it has indeed been the most incompetent government in the history of Kosovo's democracy and deserves to leave as soon as”.

The PDK Parliamentary Group's full statement, Memli Krasniqi:

Since its beginning, the ruling coalition between the LVV and the LDK has proven irresponsibly to the country and its inability to govern normally, initially with an extended 119-day delay in forming the government, keeping institutional life of the state paralysed and preventing the normal growth course in the country.

This procrastination was also the first testimony to direct fraud these two parties made to their electorate after promising government within 72 hours on principled grounds, while falling into four months' delay and a non-progressive post and power deal.

This prime minister and this government does not deserve to govern the Republic of Kosovo, because in the early hours of the agreement, they began violating the laws and institutions of the state, calling for the provision and without warning of the session to elect it without the presence of the new Kosovo Assembly Speaker. This insult of the highest institution in the country became a tradition from this current majority, even smuggling with accelerated government budget procedures a few days ago, into another session that again ruled the opposition out of the process.

At the most sensitive time for Kosovo, the government instead of recovering injured relations with the United States, it instead promoted and orchestrated an anti-American spirit through deliberate neglect of American recommendations and through controversial and divisive discours towards the US through party militants.

This also brought formal sanctions from our most important ally, as in the case of suspending the 200m-euro funds from projects by the Family Challenge Corporation. Similarly, this approach of the prime minister prompted an American company to withdraw from the biggest investment in Kosovo's history, thus endangering the energy security of our country and losing thousands of jobs.

On the other hand, as citizens and as a state, we are facing the worst situation since the post-war, with the global pandemic of the Cavido-19 virus.

During these days, all of us have needed increased care of the Government and the responsible institutions to give more security and hope to our citizens that this heavy challenge will pass and that the state will have the priority focus on the interests and needs of citizens.

And what did we get in response to?

At the height of the isolation and block of citizens' lives, the Government created a new crisis! You're saying that it wasn't enough that the crisis, the ruling coalition partners created a crisis crisis that could only add to the uncertainty.

At the time of a collective anxiety confronting the pandemic, when our families are concerned about each other's fate, lose reason and create a crisis of personal and party interests, is more than institutional responsibility.

By the time most citizens are confined to homes, when we have entire municipalities and villages in quarantine, instead of working to help them, the prime minister and his partner took time to set up political scales.

Today, for good reason, every citizen of the Republic of Kosovo is revolting with politics.

When we seek the citizens' trust in the elections, we take it to lead even when it is time of crisis and not only when it is easy. And in times of crisis, the responsibility of politicians should not be only party. Especially not the locals.

But at this very time of uncertainty, ruling coalition partners are tearing down Government. So it's not the opposition, but the Government itself is tearing itself apart.

The Democratic Party of Kosovo has not helped, nor has it caused, with no action, this situation.

The blame and responsibility are completely solely of this ruling coalition.

This break-up from responsibility, institutional and moral, and this self-submission of the prime minister, by his actions provoking the no-confidence motion, is unworthy. Because it is happening at the very time when it would have to work for unity and cooperation, not for divisions and division.

So, he himself is sealing his political destiny as Prime Minister, along with his partner, with whom they promised so much they did very little for about two months of government.

This is the act of self-resolving the prime minister and his government indiscriminately, in the face of the challenges our country has.

So there could not be another end to a Government and a Prime Minister, who in such a short time put the most vital alliances for Kosovo at extreme risk, who failed to provide a development programme for citizens' expectations and who created so much contradictions within themselves for a short period.

The Democratic Party of Kosovo will vote for the no-confidence motion, not only because it is at the top of the opposition and the natural description of any job of a democratic country is to shorten the government's life as much as possible, but also because it has indeed been the most incompetent government in the history of Kosovo's democracy and deserves to leave as soon as possible.
