Demhaya: Kosovo should declare state of emergency sooner

The extraordinary session for voting the no-confidence motion initiated by the Democratic League of Kosovo should not be held. The odds that such a thing will not happen are that the LDK will withdraw this motion because of the pandemic situation in the country and if the state of emergency is declared. That is how the executive director of the organization [...] considers it.
So he considers executive director of the non-governmental organisation “Hirre”, Arton Demhasaj, who for KosovoPress, says that in such a situation, all political parties in power and opposition should be co-ordinated to fight this pandemic. However, according to him, the latter are making politics at the expense of the citizens of the country.
“In the situation in which Kosovo is in today, such a motion should not be submitted immediately to the Kosovo Parliament, so the actual situation that is going through should be expected. And after passing the epidemic with reading even possibly of the situation, then I can start this process, but I now think that the LDK and other opposition parties should not support such an initiative, precisely because of the epidemic Kosovo is going through. After passing the epidemic then may continue the process, because we cannot force the LDK to sit in the government with LVV”, he says.
It says that in this situation, Kosovo should by no means be without government, so according to him, the LDK should withdraw the motion, which was submitted with signatures this Friday in the Kosovo Assembly. Meanwhile, according to him, the country must declare a state of emergency.
If the state of emergency is declared, if the situation of the country's emergency declaration is declared, it could suspend all jobs, and in this case the work of the Kosovo Assembly. And this is the possible scenario that could delay the vote of no-confidence in the Parliament. The second possibility, however, is that the Democratic League of Kosovo with complete sneezing the no-confidence motion for at least a while, which this one has been initiated at another time when the epidemic situation could be calmer or overdue to”, he adds.
According to him, the Government of Kosovo has not taken appropriate measures to fight this virus, taken into account, as he says, that airlines have recently been blocked.
Taking into account some circumstances that are constantly being observed as the first is that decisions of government or emergency team, at the top with the prime minister and Health Minister, are not being largely respected by citizens then I think it is inevitable that Kosovo as soon as it is due to declare a state of emergency... We're seeing that citizens are continuing to circulate and large groups of people that this is then a huge threat to the spread of the virus. I don't think that Kosovo has taken the right measures and that's the risk of having such a large number of infected people today that are confirmed, and that a large number are not confirmed because few tests are being done a bit, says Demhay.
Among other things, Demhasaj says about Kosova Prees, that since the beginning of the LV and LDK coalition government, there have been differences in attitudes between these two parties. Even if the LDK motion is not voted, Demhaja considers that the efficiency of the two parties' governance will not exist.
After the charges that have begun to point towards Albin Kurt and vice versa, I think it's pointless in any way that governance can continue between these two partners, because efficiency may not exist at all at all times these will try to attack each other in different ways, and that will make governance meaningless between these two partners”, Demhassay points out.
Otherwise, the Democratic League of Kosovo on Friday has submitted the vote of no-confidence for the collapse of Kurti Government. The Democratic Party of Kosovo has not signed this motion, however, has stated it supports it. In the meantime, this session is still unknown.
