Albanian MP in Albania's Parliament, Shaip Kamberi, has taken the Albanian flag with him, placing it next to him in Serbia during today's session in Serbia's Parliament.
Serbia's Parliament Speaker Ivica Dacic has reacted quickly to this move by the Albanian MP, urging him to remove the red flag.
“
“We don't, we don't have tolerance for violating the rules of procedure, I ask you to remove the flag”, Daçic said.
Kamberi spoke again, saying the demand to remove the Albanian flag is censorship.
“Please kindly obey the National Assembly procedure rules and the decision on internal order at the National Assembly, which clearly says it is forbidden to appear the symbols of a party and a foreign state except in the premises set for the parties”, Dacic said.
Camber then removed the flag.
Serbia's prime minister, Ana Brnabiq, said the fact that Kamberi discusses Albania's flag instead of domestic problems speaks for himself.
I'd really like to talk about more specific things. If you think you have the right to your flag, we need to talk about the flag of another country, it will talk to you as much as you think there are real problems for Albanian residents in Presevo and Bujanovac”, Brnabiq said.
Camber then said there are no more important issues for him than identity.
“Any issues more important than identity? We may have money and employment, but if we don't have identities, languages and writing... This is a flag that Albanians use since 1443 and is more a national flag than the state flag”, Kamberi said.
This is when Daicic asks Camber to remove the flag.
