Haradinaj stands out against Hoti for the suspension of Task Force: Politics should be involved in justice

The chairman of the Alliance of the Future of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, says the disappearance of the anti-corruption task force causes judicial uncertainty. Haradinaj through a Facebook post, said that at the time he was prime minister, he was faced with cases for which he had a decision to investigate or act, but his decision was to preserve the system and strengthen it.
I have increased the salaries of police, prosecutors and judges and given you full independence. Politics should not get involved in justice. I have paid the price to maintain rule of the law on political benefits. I expect the same from every Government of the Republic of Kosovo”, Haradinaj wrote.
He said this task force has worked for more than 10 years, and according to him they have investigated and were in the process of investigating many high profile cases under their mandate.
Their work has shown that no one is immune to justice. There have normally been many things to improve and this task force to be strengthened, either by functional revision or by recommendations from strategic partners such as the US and EU”, Haradinaj wrote.
He said that in improving institutions there must be a plan.
Any unplanned decision, and present, can be understood as political interference or revenge against independent processes”, he said.
This is not the first time AAK has disagreements with Avdullah Hoti as prime minister.
Haradinaj had been tough with the government chairman even for the work of dialogue with Serbia and had warned of coming out of the government if the negotiations return to the technical level.
Also, reports of LDK-AAK were turbulent when Hoti, instead of Selim Selimi, at the summit in Brussels, had brought with him his staff chief. This, Haradinaj, had called it distrust until the two partners were later clarified.
Such open criticism of Haradinaj for Hoti comes after yesterday's meeting in the Parliament with Isa Mustaf, and meeting the previous day at the cafe with Thaci and Weselin. The criticism of Hoti's destruction of the anti-corruption task force has also led foreign ambassadors in the country.
