Agan: Gashi, with or without knowing has hurt the feelings of Muslim believers in Kosovo

Justice Party Chairman Ferid Agani has estimated that Ambassador Gashi, with or without consciousness, has hurt the feelings of Muslim believers in Kosovo when he distributed the French media article with cartoons of the prophet Muhammad. He has said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs should take this situation seriously. Agan has [...]
He has said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs should take this situation seriously. Agan has said that Ambassador Gashi, also in his statements, has indicated that he has not intended to offend Muslims, but that he has forgotten it represents over a million and a half Muslims.
I think the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the first place should take seriously this situation created in an unknown way. The ambassador has also said on the basis of his reaction that he had no intention of hurting the religious feelings of the citizens of Kosovo, but with the action he has done, he has accomplished it with self-awareness or very rude awareness because he has forgotten at some point that he is representative of over 1 million and a half citizens of this country who have special feelings of respect for Mr Muhammad's envoy, peace and God's mercy be upon him.
So by forgetting this moment and this codex of values that are related to Mr Muhammad's image and life of the envoy and the importance of these values for citizens their family, the ambassador has at one point put citizens' commitment to a democratic state ruling freedom of expression” on a particular challenge, Agan added.
He has said Kosovo is worth interreligious tolerance, but that in France's case, they have faced two different extremes, including the professor's murder in France. Agan has said that this case is also punishable according to Islamic values.
I think that despite a particular value that Kosovo society and the state eventually have a commitment and historical testimony and interreligious co-operation on the global plain. However, we have been brought into a situation that connected us with two illegal extremes, that a macabre murder that took place in a town near Paris in France, a murder that neither religious nor legal can be reasoned because it followed without any trial or verification of the guilt that was a fundamental standard of Islamic values”.
“Such a murder has failed to be punished to the extent it deserves to be punished, and the entire Islamic civilization has openly condemned it. Such an extreme terrorist act is simultaneously linked to a mental terrorist act. It has been brought into a situation so that in front of the eyes of the world's believers it will be humiliated where citizens of this country build the codex of their ethical and moral values”, he added.
Agani, who has been former minister in the Government of Kosovo, said the country's institutions should prevent such cases. He says Kosovo is dedicated on the Euro-Atlantic road, but will not allow religious values to be damaged.
I wish the country's institutions could find ways to prevent these situations in the future. I hope representatives of state institutions are very attentive to who they represent. It's very important for us to go. We are devoted to our Euro-Western path and Euro-Atlantic integration. And we're not going to allow it to match our religious values”, Agan added.
Dispersement of the prophet Muhammad's cartoons has sparked strong reactions in Kosovo. Against Gashi's move, the Islamic Community of Kosovo has also reacted, which has called for the MPJ to distance it from the move.
Even Ambassador Gashi in his clarification, among other things, has said he did not intend to offend Muslim believers with the distribution of cartoons. / EO
