At least 200 of these protected trees still exist in a natural state hidden in an estuary on the Blue Mountain, a mountainous area located northwest of Sydney and classified by Isco as mankind's world heritage.
The region has been affected by one of the most giant fires that has hit Australia for several months.
“A mission for unusual environmental protection has been undertaken to save these trees”, said in a communique Matt Kean, Minister of the South Wales Environment, a southeastern state of Australia. / A T S/
