At the final summit in Damascus, leaders were filmed talking about the American president and using a Scriptural reference to ridicule his personality.
During a visit to a Greek Orthodox church, the leaders were discussing Saul's Biblical confession of conversion to Christianity on the road to Damascus.
God says that Saul, who formerly persecuted Christians before the future apostle was cured and converted to the new religion, writes Independent, translates Periscope.
In the video posted on Twitter by a Russian journalist, Mr. Assad is heard to say: “If Trump were to travel this way, that would clear it. ”
Both leaders are seen laughing at those words.
Mr. Putin urged his host to invite the American president by adding: “He will come. ”
