Turkey's President Recep Tayip Erdogan said today that Turkish military units were going to Libya to support the internationally recognised government of Fayez al-Sarai national unity.

Erdogan said in an interview for CNN Turk that Turkey is sending top military officials to Libya, Reuters reports.

Ankara and Tripoli signed a memorandum of defence co-operation on November 28th.

Libya currently has two executive authorities -- the internationally recognised national unity government of Prime Minister Fayez al-Sarai in Tripoli -- and Abdullah al-Thani's pro-government in the east of the country, supported by the Libyan National Army of Khalif Haftar, broadcasts Kosova Press.
