Sheriff: Before dialogue with Serbia, Limaj to seek tax dialogue

Social Democrat Initiative Secretary Bilall the Sheriff says if they win the elections they have plans on how to approach dialogue with Serbia. We've been responding to the dialogue since this legislature. Limaj has once been appointed by the government as head of the state delegation, then along with Shpend Ahmeti, they have been elected by the Parliament as co-chairman and also the Kosovo Parliament has approved a platform for dialogue with Serbia. So Limaj will do nothing but the platform approved by the Parliament, in the event the prime minister is elected, re-actualising it and talks will be held on the basis of this platform”, he says.
But before the dialogue continues to reach the final agreement with Serbia, the Initiative for Kosovo plans to start a dialogue with Serbia, with the International Community's mediation for the Tax.
The Sheriff says the tax should not be lifted unconditionally, but adds Limaj has a plan for the problem, which has blocked dialogue with Serbia.
We all know that Serbia's condition to remove the tax has blocked dialogue and not the content of the platform, or the content of the delegation. Now we all know that since the tax has become an obstacle to moving forward in the dialogue, however, that the future government should address this issue. Limaj will take that stance before the dialogue on the agreement with Serbia begins, a dialogue with the mediating of international partners for the” tax should begin.
So, tax dialogue, before the dialogue on the final agreement with Serbia begins. We don't think the tax should be removed by automatism, but we do think that during the Limaj dialogue, it will add a large number of conditions Serbia must meet to suspend the ongoing dialogue tax for a period of 30 or 40 days. However, before that Serbia must meet a large number of conditions”, he says.
The Sheriff says the Initiative for Kosovo has no red lines for any parliamentary political party and that they will co-operate with each party.
“Nisma has a very principled position. Whether we liked it or did not, the Constitutional Court's act is in effect, and it sets out that anyone who wins is guaranteed that no one can make government without it. So since no one can choose the Speaker of the Assembly, nor establish the head of the Assembly, nor begin the process of electing the government, then we can only play words before the elections because after the elections no one will be able to hold positions against one or another”, he says.
However, Social Democrat Initiative secretary says an agreement with the winning party for co-governance will be possible only if their demands that are taken into account with the political platform.
“If we win the elections as a coalition we will talk to all political parties in parliament and decide to make the government with those parties that can harmonise the programme. If anyone comes in first and has an offer for the Initiative, we will be willing to examine that offer and be able to become part of the government only if in the government programme it can take place for very important causes for the Social Democrat Initiative to deal with the rights of the workers, with the minimum wage, with social reform, health insurance and some points we consider that in the next three-year period should still find place in the government programme. In principle is the Initiative programme, not the name of the party”, he says.
The Social Democrat Initiative this mandate was in coalition with the PDK, AAK and AKR, while leading with two ministries of commerce and industry, as well as education. /eo
