This is happening as a result of climate conditions, which has also contributed to a considerable reduction in water supply in this city, reports KTV.
While the water level on the ice-shuffling Lake Forlepnica, in the absence of atmospheric resources, has dropped sharply.
Citizens say that in the absence of drinking water, they are facing numerous hardships.
Citizens are forced to buy drinking water until some use private wells in homes.
The Gjilan municipality, along with the Regional Water Company “Hydromoreva”, have planned to manage the situation, opening several wells.
The same, three weeks ago, they have asked the Government of Kosovo for help, worth 650 thousand euros to overcome the emergency situation, but the latter has refused to respond, even though the Gjilan municipality has water reserves for only two months.
Ismajli has stressed that they will try in all forms to get funds from the municipality budget, though something like that will be difficult to supply citizens with enough drinking water.
The Kosovo government has returned no response to television, why it has not come to the aid of the Gjilan municipality.
