Brazil is the largest exporter of frozen chickens in the world, exporting 700 million euros of this meat to Europe over the past year.
But one of the country's five chickens has been contaminated with the food poison of the salmonella insect.
In an investigation conducted by The Guardian, Periscope, it is found that thousands of tons of salmonella contaminated chicken had been exported from Brazil over the past two years, including 1 million chickens to the United Kingdom.
Salmonella bacteria can also cause human death. Caves and animals can take the disease through food primarily.
Brazil's health - security chief has acknowledged that 20 percent of contaminated chickens are too high.
The EU has been implementing a salmonella reduction programme for more than a decade. Standards in the EU are between 1.5 and 2.2 percent.
Brazil's standards, however, are quite different.
