Aimed for G20 Summit
The leaders of major economies in the world are expected to be present today in Japan at the G20 summit, which presents the main platform of global economic co-operation.
For the maintenance of the two-day summit, Japanese police in Osaka have raised security measures at the highest level. In addition to world economies' leaders, an estimated 30,000 guests are expected to participate in the summit, while around 32,000 police officers have been committed to security.
A large number of police effectives can be observed especially around the convention center INTEX in Osaka, where the summit will be held. Police have banned the use of drones.
Security measures are also present at Osaka's Kansai Airport, and iron barriers around the city's parking can also be seen throughout the city.
During the summit, protests are expected to be organised by human rights activists, environmental activists and anti-war groups. The G-20 summit is a forum of governments and central banks of the 20 leading economies in the world, including the European Union and 19 countries of Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, Great Britain and the United States of America.
