Hoxha: Kosovo is a country that works every day to strengthen democracy

At the International Security Conference, organised as part of events marking the 20th anniversary of NATO's deployment of troops to Kosovo and simultaneously marking the Day of Liberation, European Integration Minister Lit Hoxha took note of the case, where she highlighted the contribution of panelists, who have been steadfast in politics, initiatives, and [...]
Minister Hoxha stressed that Kosovo is a country that works every day to strengthen democracy, support human rights, and we hope that soon we will become equal members of the EU and NATO, with our allies, who made that progress possible. She highlighted the importance of already historical personalities for Kosovo as President Clinton, Mrs. Albright, General Clark, and many others, for whom she mentioned that Kosovo would always be grateful.
“And our future is within the EU and NATO. Our integration within these alliances is the best hope for lasting peace not only for Kosovo but for the entire region”, she stressed, adding that dialogue remains the only practical path of action that will lead to lasting peace.
“Of course, the EU will have the leading role, but our transatlantic partners should be unified in their goals and goals for the region. If the purpose is lasting peace, then the approach to such efforts remains the key. The challenge for us remains also the lack of freedom of movement for Kosovo citizens to travel to EU member states and Schengen area countries. The European Commission confirmed that we have met all criteria set for us. Our citizens still do not enjoy the equal right to move freely. This approach is unjustified and is harmful by the pragmatic outlook”, Hoxha said.
Implementation of reforms brings us closer to the EU, but most importantly, will significantly improve the quality of the life of our citizens, Minister Donus Hoxha argued, adding that we need to find ways like countries in the region to strengthen co-operation and realise common goals for peace, lasting peace.
