Bus hits the upper road sign, dies 17 passengers

At least 17 people of different nationalities have died and several others have been injured after a bus crashed into a road signal in Dubai.

The bus carried 31 passengers. The accident occurred on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Street, police said.

Indian officials said eight Indian citizens were among the dead.

The driver, about 50 years old, is receiving treatment for minor injuries. As the causes of the event are under investigation. Dubai police expressed their condolences to the families of the victims.

Sometimes a minor error or neglect while driving leads to terrible consequences,” said chief of police Abdullah Khalifa Al-Mari.

The upper part of the bus has been completely damaged by the collision with the road sign located on the top of the road.
