Mitrovica Mayor Agim Bahtiri has hosted the candidate of the Vetevendosje Movement for chairman of northern Mitrovica, Erden Attic, today.
He said he strongly supports the VV candidate in this election race.
He said he is desperate with the heads of state of the Republic of Kosovo, who, according to him, have betrayed him in his intention of joining the city.
He eventually addressed Prime Minister Veselin, ordering him to send the certificate to the Parliament, otherwise not to speak of the union of Mitrovica.
I'm sorry that today some state leaders come out with communiqués that they are for the union of Mitrovica, because they never proved they were for uniting the city. The same don't need to go into the media, but if they want to bring the union of the city of Mitrovica to the Parliament the petition that I've given up and thus switch from their empty words to deeds. Therefore, I ask Kadri Wessel to take this action or not to speak”, writes Bahtiri.
Full Posting:
It was a pleasure to meet with the candidate of the Vetevendosje Movement for mayor of the Mitrovica municipality, Mr. Erden Attic, who in my name and on behalf of the AKR I strongly support in this election race. I believe it will be a strong voice and a person worthy of taking the processes forward in behalf of all citizens living in the northern part of the city of Mitrovica.
Looking at the current situation in Mitrovica, I am desperate with the heads of state of the Republic of Kosovo, who betrayed me to my goal of uniting the city, where they only supported me morally until I handed over the petition and then kept silent and did not act to send this legal initiative to the Kosovo Assembly.
If the promise had been kept by the Presidency and the Parliament, today we wouldn't have had to announce elections in this municipality, but they would have been declared for a common municipality where I would run for mayor.
I'm sorry that today some state leaders come out with communiqués that they are for the union of Mitrovica, because they never witnessed that they were about uniting the city. The same don't need to go into the media, but if they want to bring the union of the city of Mitrovica to the Parliament the petition that I've given up and thus switch from their empty words to deeds. So I ask Kadri Wessel to do this or not to speak.
