The absence of indictees Ahmet Dacu and Xhavit Jashar has led to the court distinguishing the subject. And today they were summoned to the courtroom.
One of the accused, once a member of the commission, Xhavit Jashari says of Kosova Preris that today's session was only initial. He has once again expressed confidence that such acts do not match him, but the chain of command.
“I was in the session today because I missed last session because I was on a trip abroad. Those attitudes I have had are not new. This was just the initial session, now they're telling us about the next sessions. We rejected the charges, they did not match us, because the verification was made by chain command. And they know better who the veterans were, he said.
Ahmet Daku, who is also suspected of a list of false “veterians.
Yasar says they are not informed of the date of the next session. He continues to deny that he has been misused with veterans' lists. The same one even says it has more to do with political spectacles.
I'm more like a political spectacle, as I said at the beginning. I was a member of the commission, but I didn't give a signature, just let them find me some argument, otherwise it's banal to say 19 thousand and 500 or so veterans. It will be confirmed and argued, that it is not the same as the prosecution's filed the indictment”, he continued.
The Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo has filed charges against the 12 defendants for the subject known in the opinion as “Vecerians” in terms of criminal activity “the misuse of official position or authority”.
Twelve defendants are: Agim Ceku, Nuredin Lushtaku, Sadik Halijaga, Shumbin Demalijaj, Qele Gashi, Shukri Buja, Ahmet Daku, Rrustem Berisha, Faik Fazliu, Smajl Elezaj, Fadil Shudreaj and Xhavit Jashar.
Also, in the indictment it has been proposed that the court issue the measure to prevent the payment of legally acquired pensions as KLA war crimes veterans until the end of the criminal procedure.
As for this day, Pristina's Constitutional Court has decided to reject the Kosovo Special Prosecutor's request, which had demanded suspension of pensions for more than 19 thousand veterans.
According to the Special Prosecutor's claims from the evidence provided so far has proved that illegal fees for KLA war veterans have been damaged in many of the 68m 153m and 533 euros and 14 cents.
