This month, the Republic of Kosovo and Canada marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
Kosovo's first Deputy Prime Minister Behgjet Pacolli, through a Facebook status, commemorates that two decades ago, Canada as a NATO member, was a powerful supporter of the North Atlantic Alliance's intervention against Serb criminal forces in Kosovo and supporting this country continues with the acceptance of nearly 70,000 violent citizens from their homes and homeland.
“Canada offered strong support for the independence process and immediate recognition of our determination. Over this decade, Canada, as a model inspirational democracy for us, has offered continued support in all aspects for Kosovo”, writes Pacolli.
He on this occasion thanks and expresses deep gratitude to Canadian Parliamentary MP Anita Vandenbeld, currently head of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with the Kosovo Parliament, for her words in respect and promotion of bilateral relations.
