MPs have included some documents in this letter, which serve as evidence of the work of the investigative commission. The list of 26 witnesses interviewed, the list of events related to arrest according to dates, recommendations and violations found.
They have said this is the first time in Kosovo's history that a parliamentary commission has fully investigated allegations of serious human rights violations. MPs have announced that their report has been handed over to the Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo to investigate possible crimes during the process of extradition of Turkish citizens.
MPs have said they do not believe that Kosovo prosecutors will conduct meaningful investigations and that will bring top officials to justice without international assistance. According to them, the international community's concern has prompted Kosovo's Assembly to establish the parliamentary commission for investigating the extradition of gylenists.
“Of course, even greater international support will be required to ensure that prosecutors in this case make a thorough investigation and that the Assembly undertakes the necessary legal measures for preventing such human rights violations in the future”, the letter of deputies Svecla and Selmani says.
At the end of the letter, these deputies say the extradition of six Turkish citizens would not have occurred if state officials knew the world was watching and that Kosovo's Special Prosecutor and Parliament must be aware that the world is still watching.
