Macedonian Parliament Speaker Talat Xhaferi announced Macedonia's elections for president today.
According to the Constitution and the early deadlines, the first round of presidential elections will be held on 21 April, while the second on May 5th.
Candidates must be submitted by March 21st, while the election campaign will begin on 31 March.
The government and opposition continue to tacticalise with candidates for president.
Prime Minister Zoran Zaev has recently declared he supports the idea of a joint candidate.
The LSDM congress is scheduled for March 3rd, while the race for party candidates remains the four names for which domestic polls are currently under way, Oliver Spasovski, Stevo Pendarovski, Nikola Dimitrov and Radmila Sekerinska.
If the parliamentary majority fails to reach agreement on common candidate, The LSDM will compete with party candidate, who will also be supported by the DPA.
The DUI will compete alone, while Besa and Bilal Kasam insist on a joint candidate with the Alliance for Albanians, while Africa's Besa Gashi still examines the modalities.
Opposition VMRO several days ago published the names of candidates for president, on the list are names of: Nikita Shektukovski, Gjorgi Manaskov, Vasko Kostov, Vlasko Gjerchev, Gordana Siljanovska-Devo, Filip Petrovski, Ilija Dimovski, Goran Angellov and Sasho Kutlesoski.
Nine candidates submitted in the VMRO- The DPMNE for president, started with promoting their programmes to citizens.
