According to Serbian data, Serbia has lost over 2m euros in illegal logging of forests in the surrounding border area with Kosovo, until the wood has been processed and illegally introduced into Kosovo.
Serbia's media research centre CINS has done a research that, according to 20 years of illegal logging in the area along the border with Kosovo and in the municipality of Leposavisic, the state of Serbia has lost exactly 2.5 billion dinars or 2.3m euros.
According to illegal foresting research has continued and has not stopped in 2019, until Serbia has planned that by 2021 it will damage, if, as they say, there will be security.
“Frica and uncertainty are present every time it gets out on the ground. Very often, there are gunshots with which forest thieves are served to frighten anyone in the vicinity of”, CINS quoted Dejan Miletqini as saying, from the company “Srbijasume”.
He has shown that during the shares that have been undertaken to expel and to capture illegal forest cutters there have been armed attacks, arrests of illegal cutters, tractor seizures, even chariot horses, saws, and axes.
