Emigration has turned into a disturbing phenomenon for Albania in recent years, as it saps the country's strength and sustainable development, but some circles are experiencing this phenomenon more strongly. According to INSTAT data, Lezha, Elbasan, and Berat had the highest migration in the 12 circuits of [...]
According to INSTAT data, Lezha, Elbasan and Berat had the highest migration among the country's 12 other counties in proportion to the population.
In 2018 net migration for Lezha was -135 per 10,000 people, while this index for Lezha was minus 110 per 10,000 and for Berat 105. During the past year only Vlora without increasing net migration in positive values of 23 people per 10 thousand people, which means that in this city the difference between returning and runaway immigrants had a positive difference of over 400 people.
According to INSTAT during 2018, for most of the country's circuits, external migration has a greater impact on the population's number and structure than internal movements.
In the case of the district of Debar, Gjirokastra, and Kukes during 2018, both external migration and internal movement contributed to the reduction of their population.
However, the population of these three circuits decreases more than the result of internal movements than international migration.
During 2018, Tirana's district population has been reduced as a result of external migration of about 5 for every 10,000 inhabitants, but at the same time this population has grown as a result of internal movements of about 81 people per 10,000.
The opposite has occurred for Vlora County, where the population has grown as a result of external migration of about 23 people per 10,000 people, but at the same time has been reduced by about 6 people per 10 thousand.
The districts of Tirana and Vlora are the only districts whose populations have grown as a result of internal and international migration movements during 2018. Such population movements have had great and annual impact on Albania's district population, writes Lapsy.al, broadcasts Klan Kosova.
INSTAT reports that the population of all parts of the country is significantly smaller than the population registered in civil records.
Data shows that the Gjirokastra and Vlora district are the only two districts where the population is less than half of the registered population, with 41,1 % and 49.0 % respectively.
