The Istog municipality has announced that the teacher's strike, which has started last week, due to dissatisfaction with the cofficiency of pre-educated education workers in the draft Peace Bill, will be halted tomorrow.
According to a Komuna report, this stance was taken after a meeting between Istog chairman Haki Rugova, DAKA and high and elementary school directors.
“During today's meeting, held between the chairman of the Haki Rugova municipality, the director of the Education Directorate, Hajrush Shoshi, and the directors of the Istog municipality's high and elementary schools were reached with the compatibility that the learning process in the municipality of Istog has to resume from tomorrow 23,01.2019. This unanimous attitude has been reached by those attending meetings, taking into account the interest of the students in the first place. Chairman Rugova also appealed not to politicise the rise of wages on the part of the USSAK, since it is damaging the teaching process in the municipality of Istog”, it is said in the Istog municipality's announcement.
The mayor of this municipality, Hakki Rugova, told Calco.com that this decision has been made for the benefit of the students.
“There has been an appeal for interruption, I haven't made any decisions, but with school principals unanimously appealing for students to start teaching, because they are suffering students, but there are huge consequences”, Rugova said.
While, the SBASK through an announcement today has called on the mayors of municipalities and the DKA not to pressure teachers to strike.
