France's President Emmanuel Macron has said his state wants to be even more involved in dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, with the aim of stabilising the Western Balkan region.
In a letter sent to Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, Macron says he supports Serbia's efforts to reach a comprehensive and final Kosovo- Serbia
Just like Trump, Macro has expressed France's interest in involvement in dialogue, with the goal of finding a lasting solution in the Western Balkans.
“In this case, I support my efforts to reach a comprehensive and final agreement with Pristina, despite the current obstacles to dialogue”, the French president's letter sent to his Serbian counterpart on January 1st, 2019.
In this letter other than that, the French president has warned a visit that will soon be carried out in Serbia.
This letter by President Macron comes a few days after the letter US President Donald Trump had sent to the address of Alexander Vuciqi and the president of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, in which he spoke of reaching a final and historic agreement between the two states that would be signed at the White House in Washington, writes Express.
However, political leaders in Serbia, including Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabyq, are skeptical of reaching a compromise, as they think the actions taken by Pristina have prompted dialogue to scan and even take steps back. Here they have cited the tax decision and the establishment of the Kosovo Army.
