Kadri Wessel: Paying off taxes, fighting America makes the country a mess

Chief Parliamentary and Chairman of The PDK, Kadri Veselini, has commented on recent developments in the country tonight, in particular, the 100% tax on Serbian and Bosnian products.

Wessel has estimated that this tax has been and is the right decision of Kosovo institutions, and that it will continue to stay.

According to him, with the fact that the country has faced an aggressiveness, the tax has been in Kosovo's interest and that the respective states themselves have caused.

“Now we are talking not about the tax but about relations with the US and the internationals, as Kosovo acts with a state that is historic, vital, like the US, and here comes the proposal for tax suspension, which is behind President Donald Trump”'s request, Vessel said at RTV Duagjini.

According to him, the good news is that at the moment of the US's recent tax and declaration, it's about suspension, not retirement.

We have made a decision that is in Kosovo's best interests. We will not remove the tax from Serbia and BiH until they recognize our country. We should all thank the United States because they'll be behind us, even after this transitional situation. It is a material that is written and delivered by me, and for what the prime minister has reported, that if after the 120-day phase there are no changes, we will continue with the measure of reciprocity, and then there are some condition that we will allow Serbia to act like this to us”, Veselin stressed.

He has even commented on the obstacle Kosovo goods and citizens have when they cross the border with Serbia, saying that should not happen.

The first of the Parliament has now assessed that Kosovo institutions have so far made fair and legitimate decisions.

Every time we were at the height of our existence, the United States has always been with us. For the state that has helped us, we must be close to him. The US and Kosovo must be one. The way of confrontation, of confronting a partner who's a race of sovereignty and our territory doesn't hurt our country”, has pointed out Wessel.

He added that he works every day for Kosovo to be as close as possible to the United States of America.

We've put the tax against an aggressiveness, so if there's two parties, to be able to figure out, both sides should agree. This tax issue concerns the purpose of dialogue, as the tax is in Kosovo's interest and will never be used for U.S. exit. I work every day for this, because I am convinced where America is, is the same Kosovo”, Veselin said.
