United States President Donald Trump and Venezuela's self-declared president, Juan Guaido, have been hired during a telephone conversation to maintain continued communication, the White House has announced.

Trump has shown once again strong support for the fight Venezuela is making to restore democracy”, White House spokeswoman Sarah Saunders said through a statement on January 30th.

The United States has recognised Guaido, opposition leader and leader of the Venezuela National Assembly, as president of this state.

Other states, including Russia, support the controversial president, Nicolas Maduro.
Trump's discussions with Guaido have come after Venezuela's Supreme Court has banned the trip from the opposition leader, as well as blocked bank accounts.

Guaido cannot leave the state until a preliminary investigation is complete since he “has caused damage to the peace of republic”, Judge Michael Moreno said on January 29th.

Guaido, 35, has declared himself acting president last week.

In an interview for the Russian news agency, RIA Novosti, Maduro has said he is willing to discuss with opposition “for the sake of peace and future” with international mediators participating.

Maduro has ruled out the possibility of holding new elections, saying the new election process cannot be held until 2025, but has said it would support early elections.
He has thanked his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, saying that “is providing support at all levels”.

Meanwhile Washington has imposed sanctions on Venezuela's state oil company, P The DVSA and has warned of <x0 serious consequences for those trying to harm Guaidon”. /Periscopi
