AGK does not stand up for Haxhi, says he cannot treat him as a journalist while he is Rama's adviser

The Kosovo Journalists' Association Board (AGK) has decided not to react to allegations that the Vetevendosje Movement is making the author of the “Zona B”, the once TV director Klan Kosova, Baton Haxhiu. Contacted by Periscopi, the head of the AGK board, Gentian Begolli, has indicated that the decision made largely by board members comes as they cannot treat Haxhi only as a journalist because she is also adviser to Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama.

“Bord decided not to react because Haxhiu is also Rama's adviser and in this case is speaking of Rama's refusal of a decision by President Meta”, AGK Chairman Gentiana Begolli has said, broadcasting the decision of members of the board of this organisation.

The Vetevendosje movement in a public response to Ilir Meta's decision not to decree Gent Cakaj as foreign minister has called Baton Haxhiun an associate of the UDB.

“Albania does not need ministers of Baton Hadziu and Hashim Thaci”, the LV's statement begins. They also refer to a Baton Haxhiu show in the Kosova Clan, attended by Gent Cakaj, while Haxhi is referred to as “director of the Kosovo Clan”.

Haxhiu, has made a series of Facebook status attacks on Kelmendi.

The AGK had then reacted to Haxhi's language towards Kelmendi, considering it violating the journalist's free speech and integrity.
