Although the LDK and VV will participate in today's extraordinary session called by the opposition for international agreements, these two parties will not participate in other topics of the agenda, which are expected to be reviewed after that session. The LDK and VV will continue boycotting regular Assembly sessions until Headship calls their next extraordinary session, where it is expected to be debated over Kosovo's president's commitments to the inclusion of “territorial exchange” or “correction of borders” in the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia.
LDK MP Ismet Beqiri has said their position remains the same and that they will boycott regular sessions unless extraordinary sessions are called.
While, he has clarified that today only they will participate in the extraordinary session of international agreements, so that they do not become the obstacle to the profit Kosovo may have of these three agreements.
Our position remains the same. We have, as opposition, called for an extraordinary new session for international agreements, for reasons that we will not become the obstacle to the benefit Kosovo will have of these three agreements. Meanwhile, our insistence is the same for the extraordinary session, which would prevent anyone from going to speak in the name of Kosovo about the so-called border corrections and we insist that this extraordinary session be held. Thaci has no mandate to go speak on behalf of Kosovo on this issue he is heading for. If this session is not held we will continue to boycott the fair sessions of the” Assembly, Beqiri has said of the index.
According to him, the chief speaker is misusing his position, not calling the extraordinary session signed by 51 MPs.
Even Vetevendosje Movement MP Arberie Nagavci has said that without allowing them to hold the extraordinary session, which fails Thaci to continue talks in Brussels, they will not participate in other points the government brings him.
According to her, as opposition they have seen fit to call the extraordinary tomorrow session that would enable approval of international agreements in order not to block them.
While, Nagavci believes boycotting regular sessions and the pressure of the protests will prevent Thaci's participation in these protests.
“Vetevendosje has made clear its position that without allowing us to hold the extraordinary session which will prevent Thaci from continuing the talks, we will not participate in the other points the government brings. It is clear that the Parliament is unable to play its role properly because of its government boycott, we see the body of other activities necessary, therefore civic protests and the boycott in the Assembly we believe will enable Thaci in these talks, so that he is leading”, Nagavci said.
Otherwise, at the extraordinary session called for today, in order of day there will be points:
- Bill vote no. 06/L-090 for Ratification of the Financial Agreement for IPA 2017, the first part, between Kosovo and the European Union,
- Bill vote no. 06/L-094 for the Ratification of the Agreement between Kosovo and the European Union on Kosovo's participation in the “Europe programme for citizens”,
- Bill vote no. 06/L-095 for ratification of the agreement between the European Commission and Kosovo on Kosovo's participation in “ERASMUS +” Union Program for Education, Training, Youth and Sports,
- Reviewing Bill No.06/ L-099 for the accession of Kosovo into the Public Administration Regional School Foundation Agreement ( ReSPA).
While, after completing this session, the Assembly will continue work with the remaining points from the September 14th session, which takes 26 points in turn.
