Mo Juanjing was sentenced to death for intentional arson in February.
According to the 35-year-old testimony she had huge debts because of her lucky games and had hoped that saving her family from flames would convince them to give her more money.
But instead the fire spread into the 18th-floor apartment and resulted fatal to the life of Zhu Xiaozhen and her children, aged 6, 9 and 11.
Linn Schengen, husband Xiaozhen and father of children, had left for business work at the time of the crime in June 2017.
Juanjing, who used a lighter to set the apartment on fire, left the scene.
The execution news was reported in Weibo, the Twitter equivalent in China, from Lin, who told his 2.6 million followers: “Dil Mo Juanjing has finally been executed. When I heard the news, my tears wouldn't stop. I called my parents, my mom heard it and cried and said everyone's been waiting for this day”.
Lin stressed that justice was finally put in place, but his way forward was very difficult, publishing even a photo of the graves of his children and wife.
Over 108,000 Weibo users commented to his post, many of whom said that they had wept a lot and wished him peace and health.
The case has covered media headlines in China, in part because of claims that firefighters had been slow in response.
Firefighters denied this, blaming lower water pressure and poor fire safety in the building.
China is believed to be executing more people than any other country a year, but it's very secret to the number. /oranews/
