He and his wife were barred from entering a restaurant in Pristina because of the clothing they wore.
Restaurant management in an answer for RTV Dukagjin says the services they offer are not appropriate for guests from Saudi Arabia.
“We are the local serving alcohol and pork, and from the country that comes those tourists that's forbidden, and their clothing was inappropriate for our locals, because we have most of our clients”, it says, in response to the management that prevented the Arab tourists from entering.
Aliu says that even after these obstacles, impressions of Kosovo and its people remain very good.
There was a negative situation here. They refused us to enter the restaurant, and for me it was very strange. I have visited 65 different parts of the world and Europe, but this was strange by the owner of the restaurant to stop me from entering, claiming that our dress was religious, and for us it is a normal” dress, the Arab tourist says.
He, however, says the case is an isolated episode and that it does not change the opinion of the people of Kosovo.
I have the best thoughts for Kosovo for a week. It was an isolated case that did not move me to change my thoughts about Kosovo. We're having fun here and we love this country”, says among other things, tourists from Saudi Arabia Ali Aljerarisy.
