Montenegro soon lifts vehicle insurance tax for Kosovo citizens

The news has been disclosed by the Ministry of Infrastructure, whose minister, Paul Lekaj, is standing in Podgorica today at the invitation of Montenegrin Minister for Transport and Marine Affairs Osman Nrkovic.
The two ministers have agreed that soon border auto responsibility insurance between the two countries will be lifted, so that citizens of the two countries will have easier and faster circulation at the border.
Minister Lekaj, regarding the signing of this agreement and the agreement on removing auto-responsibilities border insurance between the two countries, has said that following discussions with Minister Kerkovic about general developments in both our countries, with particular emphasis on the ministries we are leading, “we discussed the future of the tunnel project, which would link Payne with Rozhajen (the 7km) and the connection through railways that are a capital investment, these investments that bring about integration of our two states into the key territory of the <126x>
“We expect that we will soon come up with concrete results from our already appointed teams, in terms of these projects”, said Lekaj, Koha.net.
The agreement, which concreteised today, according to Lekaj, will facilitate the equipment with corresponding permission, will have cheaper movement of the carriers of both our countries, but also third countries, using Kosovo and Montenegro as transitive countries.
He said that neither discussion nor agreement on the removal of administrative barriers -- such as the tax on auto responsibility -- has been imposed on Montenegro at the meeting.
“For the modalities of the agreement, it remains for the line ministries to find the right modalities for this tax to be removed as early as”, the minister Paul Lekaj has said.
