But, as institutions moved, they have begun to misuse the protection of local products, raising prices, KTV reports.
While earlier a kilo of peppers was 1 euros, consumers show that during the summer season, the price has risen to 1 euro and 20 cents.
These statements have also been confirmed by the Ministry of Commerce during the inspection of markets.
“The Ministry of Trade and Industry calls on all farmers of trees and vegetables that are protected by the Kosovo Government's 02/57 decision not to play with market prices, damaging the consumer. MTI is monitoring the market every day and if we find that prices have been raised, we will react with the removal of the provisional safeguard clause”, the Office for Media response from the Ministry of Trade and Industry says.
On the other hand, one of the business associations denies price hikes.
They also object to the removal of a 30 - percent safeguard clause.
