Serbian Patriarch Irinej has said the position of Serbs in Montenegro and the Church in this country is treated as in the time of the Osman occupation.

In an interview for Danas, Irinej has commented about warnings by Montenegrin officials that the Serbian Orthodox Church in Montenegro could be raided. Irinej has said that this is an irresponsible act when it happens in the 21st century, Periscope broadcasts.

Reading these things and dealing with these problems in our time is unacceptable. If Turks and Usstads did that in their time, I'll understand, but right now, it's inexplicable”, Irinej said, the Periscope broadcast.

He is very unhappy with the position and treatment Montenegro is dealing with Serbs.

“I am not very familiar with that country, but as I have heard, the position of Serbs in Montenegro is not so good. Unfortunately. Montenegro has been given every opportunity. It's an independent country that Serbs have accepted, but that's how Serbs are treated, today it's unacceptable.

Irinej has hit Croatia as well, saying Serbs are treated there as in the time of fascism”./Periscopi/
