The Kosovo Health Ministry is soon expected to announce the 3.2m-euro tender winner for supply with analog insulin, which has a far higher price than human insulin, though it could be used for the same purpose.
analog institutions are five times more expensive than human insulin, which the ministry led by Ismaili Bridge is getting ready to buy through a tender.
Insulins are used to stabilise sugar in the human body, and many Kosovo patients face lack of sugar in public hospitals.
The price of analog insulin ranges from 5.3 euros to 9.7 euros per entity, while human ones of 1.8 to 2 euros per entity.
Based on research done by the newspaper “Voice”, it found that the Macedonian Health Ministry in tenders announced for this purpose 60 percent of insulin buys humans at cheap cost, while 40 percent analog.
