Trapped into the symbol: Muslims for shit, patriots at football games

Being decades and centuries in the mist of illiteracy; indiscreet, ahistoric, with a world of only four hundred or five hundred words, we had difficulty penetrated the depths of ideas. We took them, we worked, and we forged collective identity.

Our society is Muslim according to statistics. Perhaps the figure is 90 percent. But all this figure doesn't go to the mosque. He doesn't give away five meals. It doesn't hold Ramadan. I don't follow Koran's instructions. Not even half. These impressions I don't believe that I alone share them because my circle of people doesn't differ dramatically from around others. I mean, most of this society actually constituted its Islamic identity by being Persian, passive, indiscriminately, in the fog. An early tradition, perhaps for centuries, when ideas were embraced in exactly the same way and then their practice was dictated by convenience.

I don't believe anyone can deny that, despite different types of Islamic culture within us, some remnants of immorality and conceptivity our society is only symbolic Muslim. For shit. For a patriarchal morality that also connects with her tradition, with the canon, and where I know it.

Yet, it is also symbolic in nationalism. Yesterday, Switzerland played against Serbia. A Switzerland that is composed of Albanians, Serbs, Bosniaks, Spaniards and so on. But the nationalism of Albanians, who took the lead in the holidays, and ultimately at football matches, led back. The most primitive part of it, which leads to racism, was recovered again, that is, the romance of this ideology, blood, pride with blood, with its origin in the past.

Jaka made the eagle, and so did Shaqiri. And people ran back at Facebook. Again to be proud. Because, the pride [this kind, especially] is the opposite of shame and it's a response to shame, which goes out in the sanctuary of dailyity, and in the internal racism that we pull out of private space, or in places where our voice is most isolated.

So, in the scheme of our racism, in the scheme of ethernisation of relations, we are the last. We see ourselves as last. Neither Serbs nor Russians nor anyone else. Distorted, that scheme where the ethernal relations between peoples are located, Albanians, according to Albanians themselves, are the weakest. “Types printed” [Subjected Knowledges] cannot be left men. No, they tell more than the words we choose to express on Facebook. In such spaces, especially where our words are read or heard by many people, there is too much politics. We can illustrate this through wishful thinking about garbage, which is much like politicians, eager for popularity and tolerance.

These four Albanian players, who have chosen Switzerland before Albania -- and three before Kosovo -- mark the climax of patriotic hypocrisy. Even patriotism has not entered into thinking. And pride is nothing more than an expression of convenience, an expression of a desire for crowds, for drunkenness. A proud nation, however wrong, would not readily accept rejection. For no reason. But that's why, from the charm “magjup” that they did to Behram two years ago, immediately the same began to take pride in him.

Nationalism of a large part of Kosovars is not only unthinking, but also without memory. He forgets what he did yesterday. He forgets who voted yesterday. Who she picked? What he did in the sacred place. And so unthinkablely, it requires pleasure and drunkenness.

Adnan Januzaj is another football player who plays in the world of origin from Kosovo. Adnan was reviled for the statement he made “I am Belgian, and I feel Belgian” a week ago. Because they fail to understand how someone definitely does not enjoy their pathetic meetings of shedding pride. They fail to know that there is a concept in the modern world for the individual. Where a person decides to prioritize what is important in his identity. On Facebook, some could not understand how a man originally from Istog, named Adnan and Januzaj, might feel. Look closely at the contemptuousness of their background, their last name. Even here, it is easy to show internal racism. For all these people, who until yesterday were victims of racism, and who were not seen beyond ethnic identity, it is not understood how one can be nationalist [the nationalism is not only organic and romantic, but it can be etatistic] beyond symbolic. How someone can be nationalist, without being thrilled by the anthem, without making any kind of idiotic symbol, but simply contributing, and taking the opportunities that come up.

Then, in the end, let us not forget the large number of people who fled this country to Western developed countries since 1999. These people fled their responsibilities as members of a society that needed to be emancipated and developed. But these fugitives, who still send remittances, refused the fate of the people here, the people who could not escape or who volunteered to stay. They refused to face a thousand of a problem here. Because as the first point, they wanted to make the eagle with proud hands, have good conditions to express their symbolic nationalism, and see us from above.
