RTK bill, AGK rejects parliamentary commission closure

The Kosovo Journalists' Association opposes the closure of the parliamentary commission for public administration, local governance and media that was reviewing the bill and funding scheme for Kosovo Radio Television (RTK) without giving any reasoning about the causes for closing this meeting. “Aware that the Parliament's work regulation, Article 65, respectively. “Aware that the Parliament's working rule, Article 65 respectively, of the supplementary provisions of the Assembly Commissions, envisions the closure of commissions in certain cases, but today's closed-door discussion of the RTK bill, we consider there has been no reason to develop without the presence of the media and the public, thereby knowing the particular importance of which the content of this bill has on the citizens of the country<1>, it says in response.
AGK considers that such a practice does not serve transparency of the work of Kosovo's Parliament and at the same time constitutes violating the civil right to be informed.
The Kosovo Journalists' Association called on the parliamentary Commission for Public Administration, Local Governance and Media, the chairman of this commission, Nat Hasani, to show a good example of accountability and transparency so that such meetings as this one for the RTK bill, are accessible to the media and media.
