The demand for the division of this parcel has come from Kosovo Police for the construction of a police station near the embassy for security reasons, KTV has said in Pristina's municipality, KTV reports.
The US Embassy has not returned answers during the day why it has requested police stations, but in the Kosovo Police have said that at this location a job space is planned for police officials who will take care of providing security at the embassy.
According to police, this is done just as security is offered at other embassies.
“This working space is created by the KP, with size based on the need and number of police officials that can engage in the provision of security”, the PK Information Office says in response.
Construction of the new US Embassy facility started in 2015 in a space of 5 hectares, which the Pristina municipality has provided to exploit this embassy without any compensation.
