The considerable amount of narcotics has been trafficked in banana boxes to Germany.
“Along the investigation, various amounts of cocaine have been seized in the North Region-Westpholia and Hamburg”, a bavarese Interior Ministry spokesman stressed.
The detainees were linked to a series of cocaine finds at the bavarese supermarkets in September 2017, when cocaine packets of at least 100kg each were discovered on 10 different brands.
Experts point out that the traffic network may have sold up to 1.8 tonnes of cocaine, worth 400m euros.
Investigators speak of a sensitive “impact against drug trafficking, but more details will be released on Wednesday.
