Dacic hits Croatian prime minister: We did not support Hitler

The move immediately led to the suspension of the visit and the launch of controversy between top Serbian and Croatian senior officials.

It was Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic, who declared that if “Croatia wants diplomatic war, then one would have with Serbia”.

Those statements were countering Croatian Prime Minister Andrey Plenkovic.

And today these clashes have expanded even more with the Serbian foreign minister's response.

The “It is true that we cannot be equal, because we are not on Hitler's side, we did not commit the Holocaust to Jews and Croats, we did not insist that Croats be dressed as Serbs”, Dachic said.

According to him, the other difference between Croatia and Serbia is “that it does not condemn crimes, but punishes them”.

Tensions between these two countries have been constantly running through the last few days, with Croatia banning entry from Serbian Defence Minister Alexander Volin, and Serbia imposing reciprocity measures by preventing the Croatian Defence Minister from entering.
