Assad's Discretion

Bashar al-Assad's first step was to arrest his opponents, then shelling or killing him, now he threatens to release the fugitives. What becomes clear is: A peace with Assad is impossible since seven years the Syrian despot Assad is able to do whatever he wants under [...] eyes.
For seven years the Syrian despot Assad has been able to do whatever he wants under the eyes of the international community. Of course, his works are condemned and have complaints with his allies. But he continues to act further with methods that can only be described as war crimes. Now comes a new strategy, not unknown to history: Assad ordered a decree to be adopted in parliament, with the help of millions of fugitive Syrians.
This decree is a gift of Assad to his allies Iran and Hisblah, because it offers the opportunity to supply their people with real estate at convenient prices. At the same time, it is a collective condemnation for all who once protested against Assad and who for fear of their lives abandoned the country. But even those who happened between the fronts and sought protection abroad in this way are punished.
Systemic mode of action
In an unscrupulous way, the last phase of a systematic method of action is now implemented: previously cities or neighborhoods surrounded, then most of them were leveled (like my hometown of Homs in 2012). A law is now issued that aims to create new property reports. And only on their basis will new construction plans be devised for the destroyed cities.
Assad, who prefers to give himself the appearance of a Democrat, yet he is generous - he gives the affected 30 days to witness their property. But for me and other Syrians, only entering the airport would be equal to an arrest. And since for me and many other Syrians, freedom is more important than wealth, surely no one will return.
So far it has been primarily Syria's civil population suffering under Assad's crimes. Now affected are the countries that have accepted hundreds of thousands or even millions of fugitive Syrians. If these people are robbed of the basis of their lives, they cannot return after the war. This at a time when none of the countries that have accepted the refugees had calculated a permanent attitude of these people. No wonder most escaped Syrians in Germany received only the so - called status of subsydiarian protection (usual). )
A Future With Assad Becomes Increasing
With the accession of hundreds of thousands of Syrians, the German government made a big contribution to the support of neighbouring states Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan. At the donors' conference last week, Foreign Minister Heiko Maas pledged another billion euros for reconstruction of Syria. But as long as Assad is in power and as long as he can pass decrees, Europe will have to pay a much higher price.
The German government may become angry with the latest news news, but how could it thwart Assad's plans? So far it was unable to prevent even the murder and torture of Syrian civilians. The same applies to the UN, which the Foreign Ministry wants to engage. The only ones who could stop Assad from coming to life are the Russians. But they react only under pressure, and who could exercise it? Americans don't have a strategy for Syria to date? Assad knows he has nothing to fear.
The International Community has to react at last, because this is in its real interest and to learn from past years' mistakes. A solution for Syria with Assad cannot and should not.
