Jetir Zyberaj is the first foreign affairs ministry official to have reacted to Turkey's president's threatening statements, Rexhep Tayyip Erdogan. He has said they will seek accounts through diplomatic channels for statements by the Turkish president. Responding to the threat of the government's collapse, Zyberaj has written that Kosovo does not allow any other state to be involved in state affairs, including the collapse of the prime minister.
“Turkey is a friendly country of Kosovo, a country that has supported and supported Kosovo on a continuous basis. Through diplomatic channels in the coming days, we will clarify the reasons for statements made by President Erdogan, in accordance with the good relations we have as two states and the principles of the equality of sovereign states and non-involvement in domestic affairs”, wrote Zyberaj in a response to FB.
We are committed to cultivating interstate relations with all international partners and with friendly Turkey. It is well known that Kosovo is open to co-operation and dialogue with Turkey in each area, without the need for interference in internal affairs. Kosovo has its own institutions, and they are led by responsibility and respect from elected leaders with the vote of the people”, he has added.
Zyberaj's reaction has come after Erdogan's threats to Ramush Haradinaj, as he dismissed Minister Flamur Sefaj and Driton Gashi's AKI position. These two had participated and were aware of the Turkish intelligence operation in arresting six Gylenists, who were then deported to Turkey.
The speaker of Parliament has responded to this threat, which has said no other state is accountable for the leaders' actions.
So far, for this threat, no word has been spoken by Ramush Haradinaj, nor President Hashim Thaci.
Six Turkish citizens were expelled from Kosovo with a decision by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which had revoted residence permits in Kosovo. The revocation had occurred after AKI in co-operation with Turkish intelligence had found that the same persons pose a national threat to the state.
However, the operation on arresting and sending Turks to Turkey was held during Thursday. They were deported to the Turkish state with an accelerated procedure.
